Position Overview:
The Cochlear Implant Audiologist at Jackson Ear Clinic will be responsible for providing comprehensive audiological services, specializing in cochlear implants. The role includes patient assessment, cochlear implant candidacy evaluations, programming, and ongoing management of cochlear implant patients.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with Neurotology physicians, audiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care and help Mississippians with problems related to hearing, balance, and facial nerves.
Key Responsibilities
- Cochlear Implants: Evaluation for cochlear implant candidacy, including aided and unaided sound-field testing.
- Diagnostic testing for adult cochlear implant recipients, including intra-operative testing of electrode action potentials, routine impedance measurements, and MAPing adjustments.
- Providing a full range of diagnostic hearing and vestibular testing
- Performing specialized testing including but not limited to VNG
- Evaluation of the benefit of hearing aid(s) use, including electroacoustic evaluation of the
- hearing aid(s), functional gain measures, and real-ear measurements with the hearing aid(s).
Requirements
- Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) or equivalent.
- Valid Mississippi audiology license or ability to obtain a license.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in audiology, with a focus on cochlear implants preferred.
