ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE POSITION:

What will I be doing?

• All facets of project estimating including analyzing plans and proposals, defining scope of work, soliciting subcontractor and supplier bids, ensuring accurate quantities, and preparing bid packages

• Experience with the bidding process: soliciting bids, communicating with owners to gather information about projects and providing information to management for review.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate cost estimates

• Analyze project costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing

• Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for estimating and awarded projects.

• Perform quantity take-off in a manner and level of detail consistent with the project goals.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals off information provided in the plans and specs for both new proposals and active construction projects.

• Present estimates to management and clients, explaining the basis of the estimate and any assumptions/risk involved in the project.

• Work closely with Project Managers and Field Operations to provide cost/estimating support for any changes on projects.

• Provide support during contract negotiations and assist with contract administration for new projects and current projects

• Must be prepared to participate and often lead the preparation and presentation of cost / budget information to estimating and management team.

• Other assigned duties as required.

What would make me a good fit for the position?

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or other relevant degree.

• Excellent interpersonal communication, including both oral and written skills.

• 3+ years of experience as Project Civil estimating.

• Flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines.

• Knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting principles.

• Must have a basic understanding of the construction process, including materials, equipment and techniques.

• Ability to problem solve and adjust to changing circumstances.
