As an estimator, you will play a crucial role in analyzing construction and remodeling project specifications, conducting material take-offs, and preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates. Fluency in English and Spanish is essential for effective communication with diverse stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. This role requires a deep understanding of construction and remodeling processes and the ability to navigate between languages to facilitate seamless communication.

Responsibilities:

  1. Project Analysis:
    • Review construction and remodeling project plans, specifications, and drawings to understand project requirements.
    • Collaborate with project managers and team members to gather essential information for accurate estimates.
  2. Material Take-offs:
    • Conduct detailed material take-offs for construction and remodeling projects, considering various materials and finishes.
    • Work closely with suppliers to obtain updated and competitive pricing for materials.
  3. Cost Estimation:
    • Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
    • Utilize estimating software and tools to enhance precision in estimating.
  4. Bid Proposals:
    • Assisted in developing bid proposals, ensuring they met client requirements and aligned with the company's pricing strategy.
    • Present estimates and proposals to clients, addressing language-specific needs.
  5. Supplier and Subcontractor Management:
    • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, negotiating favorable pricing and terms.
    • Communicate effectively with bilingual subcontractors to ensure project requirements are clearly understood.
  6. Database Management:
    • Manage and update the cost estimation database to ensure accuracy and consistency in estimating practices.
    • Track historical project data to enhance future estimating accuracy.
  7. Cost Control:
    • Work closely with project managers to monitor project costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
    • Contribute to value engineering efforts to optimize project costs.
  8. Language Support:
    • Act as a liaison between English-speaking and Spanish-speaking stakeholders.
    • Translate and interpret project-related communications as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Candidate MUST reside in NC.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an estimator in the construction and remodeling industry.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (both written and spoken).
  • Strong knowledge of construction and remodeling processes and materials.
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills in both languages.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
