MasTec Power Delivery Qa/Qc InspectorOverview: As one of the nation's leading electric transmission line construction companies, MasTec Power Delivery companies engineer and construct efficient and reliable electrical transmission, distribution, and substation & switchyard systems. Our extensive workforce includes both union and nonunion teams, which, combined with our specialized equipment fleet, allows us to effectively meet our clients' needs for power delivery, emergency restoration, and ongoing maintenance. We've been involved in some of the most challenging and recognizable electric projects across the U.S. From the electric plant to the end users, MasTec's experienced managers and crews consistently deliver transmission, distribution, and substation & switchyard services with an unfailing commitment to safety, integrity, and sustainable practices.Hourly rate: $55-65 per hour + Per DiemResponsibilitiesPerform quality assurance and quality control inspections for civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical work.Verify construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, codes, standards, and MasTec Power Delivery QA/QC requirements.Conduct inspections for materials, workmanship, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.Review and monitor Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and quality documentation.Identify non-conformances, issue NCRs, and verify corrective and preventive actions.Maintain detailed inspection reports, daily logs, and quality records.Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and site supervisors to resolve quality issues.Witness and document testing activities (e.g., concrete testing, weld inspections, electrical/mechanical testing).Ensure proper material handling, storage, and traceability.Support audits, punch lists, and final inspections prior to project handover.Promote adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards at all times.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Minimum 37 years of QA/QC inspection experience in power generation and/or commercial building construction. Strong knowledge of construction practices, drawings, specifications, and industry standards. Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASTM, ACI, AWS, NEC, ASME, ISO). Experience reviewing technical documentation, submittals, and inspection records.CertificationsCertified Welding Inspector (CWI) NACE / AMPP Coating Inspector ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician ISO 9001 QA/QC training OSHA 10 or OSHA 30Skills & CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and documentation accuracyAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsEffective communication and coordination skillsProblem-solving and conflict-resolution abilitiesProficient with MS Office and digital inspection/reporting toolsAbility to work independently and in team environments
