Position / Specialty: Histotechnician V

Shift Time:1st shift. Mon – Fri. 8am –5pm

Pay Range: $30-$36 per hour on W2

Duration : 3 Months+

Location: Baltimore MD

Experience Required: Grossing experience

Summary:

Join our cutting-edge, CAP-certified pathology laboratory as a Histotechnician. Under the guidance of Senior or Lead Histotechnologists, you'll perform crucial duties in paraffin histotechnology, ensuring high-quality diagnostic material and meeting turnaround-time expectations.


Position Responsibilities:


Embeds, cuts, stains, and processes tissue samples in our Immunohistochemistry laboratory.

Provides accurate gross descriptions of tissue samples.

Performs quality control procedures and maintains meticulous records.

Operates instruments and equipment following established procedures; troubleshoots issues as needed.

Maintains productivity standards and meets turnaround-time goals for the section.

Identifies testing errors or problems and collaborates with appropriate personnel for resolution.

Records, transcribes, and maintains patient test results according to protocols.

Assists in identifying and analyzing abnormal results.

Reviews accuracy and completeness of results before releasing in the Laboratory Information System.

Completes routine and STAT testing within specified turnaround-time guidelines.

Required Qualifications:


Associate degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology, or related life science.

Formal training in Histology from an accredited program (720 hours).

State licensure where applicable (e.g., CA, FL, NY require licensing).

Meets CLIA personnel standard criteria.

Proficient in microtomy, grossing, processing, embedding, cutting, and routine special staining techniques.

10+ years of experience in histotechnology.
