At CHS, we are creating connections to empower agriculture.CHS is seeking a qualified Union Electrician to support electrical systems and infrastructure at our Myrtle Grove grain terminal. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical equipment critical to grain handling operations, including conveyors, motors, control panels, and automated systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work collaboratively in a union environment.Salary Range: $35.60 This is a union role. Wages are based on the collective bargaining agreement.Responsibilities:Troubleshoot using electrical schematics and multimeter/megger to diagnose electrical issuesMust be able to read PLC code, troubleshoot using PLC software and program PLC controlled equipmentReads and understands wiring diagrams to trace electrical circuits; IO's, OL's, contactors, relays, break resisters and various other electrical componentsExperience with 480vAC, 120vAC, 24vDC, and 4-20mA systemsTroubleshoot and install 480v and 3 phase power distribution systemsFamiliar with troubleshooting/set up of VFD drives; SEW drives, Siemens, Lenze, Allen Bradley, ABProficient in troubleshooting electrical components; IOs, OLs, contactors, relays, break resisters and various other electrical componentsMaintain, install, troubleshoot VFDs, programmable sensors, SCADA, HMI, and PLCs.Electrical troubleshooting and repair of all plant equipment and utilitiesInstallation and maintenance of electrical equipment such as conduit, junction boxes, control panels, wiring, etc., in conformance to the National Electrical CodeComplete assigned work orders, and project work promptly while maintaining a neat and orderly workplace.Understand and troubleshoot sensor-based systems such as level controls, temperature controllers, etc.Repair sophisticated electronic equipment such as programmable controllers and vfdAble to build and read electrical/electronic schematics and drawings, fabricate control panels and start-up new and rebuilt equipmentPerform all with safety in mind and within all compliance requirements to avoid personal injuryPerform all other duties as assigned by management or required by business needs.Minimum Qualifications (required):High School Diploma/GED RequiredAdditional Qualifications:Must have a journeyman license or a minimum of 5 years' experience in Industrial Electricity and Control System with the ability to read electrical diagrams and troubleshoot sophisticated equipmentEnglish Language Skills Able to speak, read, writeAble to work a flexible work schedule (all shifts, extended hours, including weekends and holidays when required)Understand National Electric Code as it relates to industrial installationsMust be self-motivated and productive with minimal direction while exhibiting the ability to work in a team environmentAble to use multi-meter, megger, and other test equipmentTest electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopesMust possess a valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card.Physical Requirements:Considerable periods on feet including walking, standing, climbing steps, climbing ladders, and operating a Bobcat on uneven surfaces.Will be required to lift, use tools, shovel, and sweep.Must be able to push, pull, and physically lift 50 lbs.May be required to work while squatting, kneeling, or crawling.Must be able to work in noisy, dusty, and otherwise undesirable conditions.Climb ladders and work at heights up to 120 ft.Must be able to wear Arc Flash PPE during high temperaturesCHS offers a competitive total rewards package.
