Electrical Designers are responsible for:

  • Creating efficient, cost-effective commercial, institutional, industrial, healthcare, and/or multifamily facilities design
  • Designing and drafting electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution and building systems
  • Understanding and applying the NEC, NFPA 72, and other codes to electrical system design
  • Performing both interior and exterior lighting designs using ElumTools, Lithonia Visual, or similar lighting software
  • Perform energy code compliance analyses using ComCheck software
  • Coordinating with mechanical, plumbing, and other disciplines
  • Modifying designs following quality control review by senior designers and engineers


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-3 years' experience in the design and drafting of commercial electrical systems
  • A.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology or B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering (can be substituted with equivalent engineering industry experience)
  • Ability to work independently and as a strong team player
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in AutoDesk Revit MEP
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Strong Computer Skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Self-motivated and looking for expanding responsibility
  • Possess a basic understanding of electrical system theory and apply it to design task
  • Ability to use basic electrical formulas to calculate power, current, and other required quantities
