What's a typical day as an IT Asset Specialist?

  • Manage the hardware lifecycle management process, from purchasing/receiving to disposal
  • Conduct physical inventories of IT assets in data centers
  • Perform searches for equipment not found during inventory
  • Compile, sort, and verify the accuracy of inventory data
  • Conduct research and data analysis of hardware assets
  • Reconcile and resolve asset data discrepancies by liaising with appropriate stakeholders
  • Update and maintain information in the asset repository in a timely manner
  • Improve the quality of hardware data in the IT asset repository
  • Coordinate disposal pickups and completion of associated processes and records
  • Record, review and track asset maintenance support information
  • Collaborate with Hardware Asset Management peers and key Data Center partners

Requirements:

  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Self-starter, dependable/reliable, work independently or in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented, proactive and highly organized while prioritizing work and multi-tasking
  • Experience with Hardware Asset Management in a Datacenter environment
