Smash My Trash is revolutionizing the commercial waste industry. We provide mobile waste compaction services primarily to manufacturing, distribution, transportation, and service customers. Our service solves many of the pain points associated with waste and helps our customers cut their costs & environmental footprint while improving operational efficiency and enhancing site safety.
Our business model is simple: we use proprietary technology to compact waste in open-top dumpsters to increase dumpster capacity by as much as 70%, leading to customers savings 20%+ on their waste hauling. We service most of our customers via a routed schedule with recurring contracts.

The Role
We are looking for a sales representative to accelerate our sales efforts. This role will be hands-on with the expectation of you eventually performing the entire sales cycle with several prospective customers. The sales process for Smash My Trash is old-school and consists of majority in-person contact via door-to-door (or warehouse-to-warehouse) sales efforts. It requires grit, persistence, and creative closing of opportunities. You will also act as an account manager to existing customers by interacting with them on a regular basis and driving customer satisfaction & retention. You will be expected to identify growth opportunities within existing customers and address their potential incremental needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform the entire sales cycle, consisting of scouting, first contact, determining the decision maker, pitching, performing service demonstration, tracking, closing, and post-close monitoring
- Spend 90%+ of your time cold calling customers both in-person and over the phone
- Interact with current and prospective customers in a professional and friendly manner
- Utilize software systems to track all interactions, maintain a pipeline, book service demonstrations, and develop KPI trackers
- Collaborate to develop new sales strategies and tactics
