This position is responsible for leading the Company’s safety culture and driving continuous improvement in safety, compliance, and quality. As the Company grows (both organically and through acquisition), the individual will steer integration and change management in the areas of related systems, processes, recruitment/hiring, training, and programs to enable best practices and industry-leading metrics. 

The position manages safety, security, and DOT programs and personnel to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding transportation and workplace safety. Additionally, responsible for the Management of the Company’s Quality and Claims Departments.


Responsibilities

  • Leverage expert knowledge to deliver Safety and Training programs for professional car haulers, with a focus on CSA and DOT compliance
  • Manage all programs and processes related to DOT, FMCSA, customer, and Company-specific guidelines
  • Work with HR/Recruiting Leadership to develop effective and best-in-class processes related to the hiring and selection process of drivers. Revamp and centralize training, onboarding and driver engagement to set common expectations and hold drivers accountable
  • Lead the integration and implementation processes and procedures to best utilize the chosen Platform (TenStreet) to manage all Safety and Compliance related data for driver populations across the Organization
  • Work with HR and Finance Leadership to centralize Workers Compensation Policy and provider across the Organization. In partnership with HR, ensure accurate and comprehensive accident investigation/administration program. Utilize learnings from accidents/incidents to improve training, communication and safety reinforcement tools
  • Implement KPIs, reporting processes, and safety recognition tools for all Safety metrics for Organization
  • Monitor, report and champion the importance of CSA Scores across the Organization and partner with all relevant teams to build action/improvement plans where needed
  • Standardize Claims/Quality processes/procedures across functions for efficient management across the Company, including Claims reporting, system of record, and administrative procedures so that Claims data is centralized, accurate and easily utilized by outside Departments
  • Enable operations, commercial and financial success through a reliable driver workforce, committed to safety, quality and compliance


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Logistics Operations
  • 8+ years management experience
  • Intimate knowledge of DOT compliance, OSHA compliance and FMCSA regulations
  • Experienced leader and safety culture builder with ability to connect with people and subject matter both corporately and on the front lines
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience in matrixed organizations with success driving cross-functional enterprise initiatives
  • Technologically savvy with ability to lead systems conversions, implementation and training in the relevant functional area (in partnership with Technology) to ensure proper systems usage and reporting
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including training and facilitation
  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office Suite, including development and delivery of reports, presentations, etc.
  • Passion to develop, coach, and mentor others
  • Desire to collaborate and win as a team
  • Willingness to travel and serve as champion of safety and quality across the field operation; the role is based in Jacksonville, FL
