Overview Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Director of Clinical Education

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Diagnostic Medical Sonography Director of Clinical Education (DCE) to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare professionals. Position Summary:The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Director of Clinical Education ensures the availability of clinical sites for the educational experience of our Diagnostic Medical Sonography students. As a mission-driven institution, we are committed to impacting the lives of our students and the communities they will serve. The DCE will be responsible for preparing students for their clinical experience through lab practice, classroom lectures, and coordinating necessary requirements for clinical placement. Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Education Leadership: Initiate, administer, assess, and document clinical education programs, ensuring the highest standards of education for our students.
Community Development: Foster strong relationships with clinical affiliates and secure new clinical affiliation agreements to expand our network and strengthen our ties within the healthcare community.
Curriculum Enhancement: Develop, monitor, and refine the clinical education component of the curriculum to provide students with a well-rounded educational experience.
Student Support: Coach, mentor, and advise students, being available to solve problems and provide guidance during their clinical rotations.
Professional Development: Act as an Instructor of Record and contribute to didactic/laboratory courses as assigned, within accreditor guidelines.
Supervision: Oversee clinical instructors and preceptors at clinical sites, ensuring the fulfillment of program requirements.
Accreditation: Assist with all requirements of programmatic and institutional accreditors, maintaining high-quality standards.
Community Engagement: Embrace a strong focus on community involvement, participating in local/national societies as requested, and attending program graduation ceremonies.

Additional Supervisory Responsibility: The DCE will supervise students in the classroom and at clinical sites/laboratories, ensuring compliance with program requirements. In the absence of the Program Director, the DCE assumes the Program Director's duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications

Qualifications:


Education: Minimum of an Associate degree in Medical Sonography.
Experience: Four years of full-time professional experience in OB/GYN and Abdominal Sonography.
Documentation: Documented coursework in instructional methodologies, evaluation, and assessment.
Certifications: Must be RDMS certified with specializations in OB/GYN and Abdominal.
Teaching Skills: Proficiency in curriculum development, teaching methodology, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and guidance.
Preferred Experience: Experience in educating students in a clinical setting is a plus.
Communication: Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and counseling skills.
Technology: Current knowledge and skill in the use of information and computer technology (word processing, email, database) or proven ability to learn these skills.
Travel: Ability to travel as needed.
