The EHS Manager is a key contributor to fulfilling that commitment across our multi-site, 24/7 manufacturing facilities in Plymouth and Antigo, WI (800+ manufacturing Team Members). The Safety Manager will lead a team of safety professionals and is responsible for creating and driving the vision, strategy, and results for a best-in-class culture of safety.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Leads the organization in the vision and strategy for a culture of safety focused on awareness and personal accountability.
  • Leads, coaches, and engages a team of safety professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth to achieve high levels of performance.
  • Develops and oversees Sartori’s safety, security, and environmental compliance programs, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Serves as the emergency response coordinator and works in conjunction with emergency services to investigate incidents and determine the root cause and preventive measures.
  • Ensures Team Members receive adequate training and education in all safety, security, and environmental programs and policies.
  • Stays abreast of local, state, and federal safety regulations to ensure the organization's compliance.
  • Evaluates and interprets new safety requirements, educates the organization, and revises programs and policies to ensure continued compliance.
  • Leverages quantitative (i.e., KPIs) and qualitative data to measure the effectiveness of Satori’s safety, security, and environmental programs. Reports trends and corrective action to drive a best-in-class Safety program.
  • Manages Sartori’s self-funded worker's compensation program including injuries, return to work, and liaising with our insurance carrier.
  • Conducts comprehensive risk assessments and hazard analysis across all operations. Develops and implements strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Maintains understanding of safety incidents across the organization. Performs root cause analysis and makes recommendations for corrective action.
  • Conducts routine safety audits and inspections to identify areas of non-compliance and opportunities for improvement. Collaborates with the safety team and facility leadership to address and correct safety issues and team member behaviors.
  • Provides safety leadership on capital projects to ensure safety, security, and environmental standards compliance.
  • Manage the safety budget, ensuring we are proactively budgeting for safety programs and equipment aligned to the vision and strategy.
  • Leads and implements environmental management systems to monitor and mitigate the environmental impact of the organization’s activities and ensure all organizational processes meet the required standards.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety or environmental sciences Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, or other related field, required.
  • Professional Safety certifications, desired (e.g., CSP, CIH, PSM)
  • 7+ years of related safety, health, and environmental experience, building and executing best-in-class Safety programs in a manufacturing environment, required.
  • Proven record of accomplishment driving a culture of safety and transformation.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience required.
  • Comprehensive experience with relevant OSHA, EPA, and other state and federal regulatory requirements.
