Airswift has been tasked by one of our major Oil & Gas clients to seek a Senior I&C Designer to join them on an initial no-end assignment in Denver, Colorado. Senior I&C Designer
Responsibilities: To ensure all engineering and design work performed adjusts to quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
This onsite position is located near Denver, CO in a refinery/ plant environment.
• Perform designing/engineering work/deliverables as part of the Instrumentation & Control team. • Ability to interpret client specifications.
• Coordinate/Communicate with other disciplines and the client.
• Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Companies Quality Assurance system.
• Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
• If required, assist, and support junior personnel within the instrumentation & controls engineering team.
• Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in instrumentation & control engineering.
• If required, act as the instrumentation & controls engineering Lead on specific projects. • May be required to provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure all engineering and design work performed adjusts to quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
• Ensure all design work is safe and carried out safely.
• Ensure all design work conforms to the codes and standards used by the client, or to agreed industry standards. Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:
• Working knowledge of Instrumentation & Control deliverables such as:
o Panel (JB and Marshalling) Design.
o P&ID's. o Loop Drawings.
o Wiring Drawings.
o Motor Control Schematics.
o Instrument Location Drawings.
o Instrument Installation Details.
o Instrument Specifications (Datasheets).
o I/O Lists.
o Bill of Materials.
o Conduit/Tray/Cable Schedules.
o Control Narratives.
o Cause and Effect Diagrams.
o Material Requisitions.
o Construction or Engineering Work Packages.
• Working knowledge of Instrumentation Calculation/Selection, such as:
o Flow (Orifice Plates, Vortex, Venturi, Magnetic, Ultrasonic meters).
o Level Measurement (Radar, Displacers, Gauges).
o Temperature (including Thermowells Freq. wake calculation).
o Pressure.
o Process Analyzers and sampling systems would be a plus.
o Competent use of instrument calculation/selection specific software.
• Working knowledge (design/configuration/implementation) of any of the following systems:
o PLCs, preferably Modicum, GE, or Rockwell. o SISs, preferably Triconex.
o DCS, preferable Honeywell TDC/TPS/Experion, Foxboro I/A, ABBxA.
• Working knowledge of industry standards and codes related to Instrumentation & Control system deliverables.
• Being able to work with multiple and concurrently small and medium projects.
• Working knowledge of Computer-Aided Design software.
• Working knowledge of Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) software.
• Working knowledge (design/implementation) of Communication Networks is a plus.
• Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
• 5+ years of direct Instrumentation & Control design and engineering experience. Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training: Required:
• Accredited with an engineering degree in general engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
