Bargaining Unit: UUP Job Summary: The Department of Pathology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Surgical Pathologist / Cytopathologist / Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor. Responsibilities include: Surgical pathology and Cytopathology sign-out, frozen section, rapid on-site evaluations, autopsy, mentoring and teaching of medical students and pathology residents and participation in other areas of the laboratories. The position includes leadership of the pathology education for second year medical students. Interested individuals may be considered for the position of Associate Residency Program Director of Anatomic Pathology. Participation in research with presentation of work at national meetings and publication in peer reviewed journals is expected. Required Qualifications: MD or DO Degree. Board Certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Eligibility for New York State Medical Licensure. Preferred Qualifications: Fellowship training in cytopathology, oncologic surgical pathology, transplant, renal or gastrointestinal pathology.
