The Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for reviewing annual, semi-annual, and quarterly financial statements for registered investment companies, with a focus on accuracy and diligent review. The role requires experience in regulatory forms such as N-SAR, N-Q24F-2, and N-CSR. This individual will collaborate with senior team members and managers to oversee fund financial information and handle various projects as directed by the Financial Administration Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Statement Review: Conduct thorough reviews of annual, semi-annual, and quarterly financial statements. Maintain timetables for these statements.
- Expense Management: Review fund expense proformas, expenses, and accruals. Coordinate any necessary adjustments with clients and the financial reporting team, and authorize fund invoices.
- Reporting & Documentation: Assist in the preparation of board books and procedure manuals, and report performance data to fund management and industry publications.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with laws and regulations such as the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Internal Revenue Code, GAAP, and Regulation S-X. Stay informed about regulatory changes affecting funds.
- Team Collaboration: Maintain communication with the Financial Reporting Team Leader and other team members regarding workflow and deadlines.
- Mentorship: Support junior-level staff by reviewing their work and contributing to the development of the Financial Administration Group.
- Systems Enhancement: Propose improvements to BBH’s Fund Accounting system (Eagle/OMEGA) for enhanced financial reporting and compliance.
- Special Projects: Participate in special projects as assigned by the Financial Reporting Supervisor or Team Leader.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: BA/BS degree, preferably in a business-related field.
- Skills:
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven, client-focused environment.
