The Power Safety Coordinator works closely with Peterson Power Systems to maintain good customer relations and ensuring that all employees are safe (developing, training, and enforcing that all safety procedures, laws and policies are observed).


The person reviews projects and project sites before work begins to determine safety related risks and then works with the sales team, service management teams and field workers to develop and implement solutions to safety related issues on project sites. The person also Implements a consistent process for recording, investigating, and reporting incidents (injuries, property damage, motor vehicle accidents and near misses) to develop the causes of the incident to put corrective actions in place to prevent any recurrence. In addition, communicates to all Peterson employees through tailgate meetings, weekly recap emails, in-person, and Teams trainings, leading a weekly safety huddle with all leaders of Peterson as needed. Performs periodic reviews of incidents/injuries/near misses of all reports to identify trends. The Power Safety Coordinator is responsible for conducting, administering, and monitoring programs related to required safety training and PPE requirements.


A candidate for the opening needs a Bachelor’s degree from a fully accredited college in Safety Administration, Safety Management or other closely related field; and a minimum of five years’ experience with a focus on power generation and power supplies/Safety Department experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess understanding of current Safety Administration, Federal, State, Local and OSHA regulations.


Must have a strong understanding of the electrical industry consensus standards including NFPA 70E, NESC, ASTM, ANSI, Lockout/Tagout and ARC Flash training requirements with a strong understanding of state-specific regulations for California, Washington, and Oregon.
