Plastic Molding Process Engineer

Responsibilities include:

 Process development and optimization using scientific molding principles; specifying new injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment; automotive and cosmetic parts; material handling systems both bulk and batch; plastic material drying systems; secondary equipment such as robots, conveyors, part separators, etc.; secondary processing vacuum metalizing and coating; statistical tools / Six Sigma Training; working knowledge of APQP tools & techniques (Process flow, PFMEA, Control Plans); Router and quote development for molded products (both cycle time and equipment); Work with Tooling & Product Design Engineers on new and existing products and molds; Determine and implement continuous improvement and cost reduction projects; Identify plastic molding, auxiliary equipment, and secondary processing required; Act as manufacturing representative on cross functional New Product Implementation Teams; Lead corrective action teams; Determine, implement, and update PM programs for new and existing processing equipment; Create and update manufacturing process documentation; Work with Quality Engineers and Manufacturing management team on quality improvements and prepare capital funding requests as required.


REQUIREMENTS:

 4-year degree; Plastics Engineering degree is preferred with demonstrated scientific molding experience.
