Shelter Program ManagerAbout This OpportunitySchedule/Hours: Base shift of 8A-5P, must be on call for weekends and evenings. Full-Time position.Pay Rate: $70,000 annuallyThis position is responsible for:The Shelter Program Manager I manages CVAC emergency shelter services for persons experiencing homelessness, which includes a year-round housing first shelter program and a nightly inclement weather shelter program. The Shelter Program Manager oversees all staff and supporting functions. This includes supervising, monitoring, and evaluating program effectiveness, employee performance, dining services, shelter admissions, and case management. He/she monitors day-to-day program operations as well as the maintenance and cleanliness of buildings and grounds. Assists shelter residents to develop goal plans and secure permanent housing.Key Responsibilities:Develops, implements, and evaluates Salvation Army services that enable persons experiencing homelessness to secure permanent housing and to maintain housing stability thereafter.Leads a continuous improvement process to assess program outcomes, track quality indicators, and promote a positive resident experience. Identifies ways to strengthen program services and results.Ensures scheduling of workers to maintain appropriate staff coverage for all shifts.Supervises Caseworkers/Case Managers, Housing Managers, and Residential Aides.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.Ability to meet attendance requirements.Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.Duties are performed seated or intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping.Occasional lifting of light objects (less than 25 lbs) and occasional lifting of objects weighing 25 to 50 pounds is necessary.Employee Benefits:Health, Dental and Vision InsuranceVacation, Sick, Personal and Holiday Paid Time OffRetirement PlanLife Insurance and moreWhat We Are Looking For In YouBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Human Services or related field, ANDTwo years of social services experience with at least one year in a supervisory capacity, ORAny equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Licenses and Certifications:LPC highly desirable.
