Process Development Associate

Immediate opportunity for a Process Development Associate with a growing team at one of the world's leading biotechnology companies located in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Schedule/Shift: 1st shift, Mon.-Fri., 8am-5pm. 1-2 weekend days a month max for 3-4 hours total.
Position Type: Contract position for 1 year (through September 2025), extension possible
As a Process Development Associate, you will execute mammalian cell culture experiments at different scales in shake flasks, culture bags and bioreactors; perform purification experiments, mainly filtration, chromatography and UFDF, at different scales; execute process / equipment trouble-shooting; program automation for process equipment including benchtop bioreactors, chromatography systems, and robotic liquid handling systems; design experiments and analyze the data using visualization and analytics software; document experimental data in lab notebooks and communicate findings through reports and presentations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilties:
- Work in a team environment to contribute to drug substance process development.
- Contribute to technology development projects to seek continuous improvement in reliability and efficiency.
- Execute mammalian cell culture experiments at different scales in shake flasks, culture bags and bioreactors.
- Execute purification experiments, mainly filtration, chromatography and UFDF, at different scales.
- Program automation for process equipment including benchtop bioreactors, chromatography systems, and robotic liquid handling systems.
- Execute process/equipment troubleshooting.
- Design experiments and analyze the data using visualization and analytics software.
- Document experimental data in lab notebooks.
- Communicate findings through reports and presentations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BS) with 0-2 years' hands-on lab experience in cell culture or protein purification (acadia and/or industry)
- Hands on lab experience with mammalian cell culture and/or protein purification experiments, including mainly filtration, chromatography and UFDF, at different scales, with emphasis on protein purification experiments.
- Software used for design experiments and analyzing data using visualization and analytics software.
- Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
