The Chief of Psychiatry Services is responsible for psychiatric evaluation, consultation, treatment, and recommendations. Assists with the oversight and direction of psychiatric services at Compass Health Network as described by the policies and procedures designated by the Board of Directors, and in accordance with State, Federal and local requirements. Acts as CCBHO Acting Chief of Psychiatry.

Essential functions include:

Participates in the Executive Psychiatry Leadership TeamProvides clinical oversight of the psychiatry team in conjunction with CMOWorks closely with the Vice President of Outpatient Psychiatry Services in addressing matters of inappropriate client care, unprofessional demeanor, or other opportunities for improvement as determined by the Vice President of Outpatient PsychiatryAssume responsibility for ensuring good client care is provided across the system in cases of emergency, provider absence, or other disruption to psychiatric servicesResponsible for identifying back up resource during times the Chief of Psychiatry is unavailableContributes psychiatric expertise and leadership to all Compass Health Network departments and team membersEnsures members of the psychiatry team follow Best Practice Standards in delivering care, and follow policies and protocols of the OrganizationAssist with the development and maintenance of written psychiatry policies and proceduresRecommend psychiatry staffing needsAssist in the requirements of qualified psychiatric providersParticipate with the periodic review of practice management functionsReview patient satisfaction surveys and recommend modificationsReview all patient complaints as necessaryParticipate in medical staff meetingsAdvocate and serve as a liaison for Compass in the communityAssure compliance with all Federal and State regulationsMaintain accurate records of services provided in the EMRInterpret clinical policies and procedures to employees, patients, visitors, and governmental agenciesConform to the rules and regulations of the clinic and other governmental entitiesAssume authority and responsibility as delineated by the Chief Medical OfficerProvide Psychiatric evaluation and treatmentProvide psychiatric consultation and recommendationsPrescription of psychotropic medicationsOversight of treatment for psychiatric rehabilitation consumersActs as CCBHO Acting Chief of Psychiatry
