Join us in creating an energy resilient world for a better futureWhy You Will Love This Job: Basic Function: Provide technical and design direction in the development of custom generator sets. Technical scope includes a working knowledge of generator control systems, switchgear, transfer switches, communications, and power electronics. Collaborate with sales, application engineering, design engineering, procurement, and production teams to engineer and design customer specific generator sets and power systems. This role leads the electrical engineering design effort and is also responsible for delegating design tasks to design analysts and engineers as appropriate as well as consulting with the engineering simulation, regulatory compliance, and other third-party engineering resources, as necessary. Research new and apply proven technology to utilize in the special designs. Candidate must be capable of estimating the design duration and product cost related to the special design request. Position requires a self-motivated individual with a sense of urgency toward project completions and a drive to achieve engineering excellence through continuous improvement. The position requires a self-motivated individual leader with a sense of urgency to deliver key project milestones, operating independently with limited guidance. Must be able to juggle multiple projects or tasks, prioritize work and direct local and remote engineers and designers that support you on the project. Projects are expected to be completed with a high degree of quality and be completed on schedule and within financial commitments utilizing data-driven decisions made using decision support tools and critical thinking, including risk/reward trade-offs. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are utilized internally and occasionally with end users.Specific Responsibilities:Lead electrical design for generator controls integrations, including internal genset and ATS controls and harnesses, as well as the coordination/integration with any third-party electrical systems and manage this integration up to and including the commissioning process.Set ES project priorities as agreed upon with the Technical Solutions team.Evaluate project scopes to determine if within ES design control or an NPD project (internal or external)Provide technical support in quoting process for Technical Solutions team
