Job TitleHelp ensure all material required for repair and alternation of ships are ordered, expedited, reviewed and inspected to support production schedules.Support the execution of logistics of material, tools, and consumable handling from job planning to execution.Assist with the development and execution of the planning and coordination of complex material management plans for assigned projects.Coordinate material from Department of Logistics Agency (DLS) and Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS).Evaluate the efficiency of shipyard material management and supply programs to support shipyard workload.Study and evaluate customer requirements, acquisition lead times, storage, inventory, and delivery.Must be a US Citizen.Must be determined suitable for federal employment.Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.This is a bargaining unit position.You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.You maybe be required to work onboard ships/boats and in small and/or confined spaces.GS-11 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, coordinating and executing material management plans and projects to support shipyard material management and supply programs.GS-09 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing and preparing supply project plans to ensure material requirements are met in support of the execution of shipyard material management and supply programs.In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: GS-11 Grade level: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a such a degree. OR Possession of an LL.M. that is related to this position being filled. GS-09 Grade Level: Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree OR Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.
