Job Purpose
This position is responsible for purchasing and scheduling activities for Hampton Farms manufacturing locations. Activities include detailed scheduling, purchasing, material requirements planning, and logistics support. This position will be a key user of MRP and APS software. This position will support manufacturing plants remotely and some travel (10-20%) will be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform material requirements planning and release necessary orders.
- Forecast future purchases to suppliers to minimize any material interruptions.
- Purchase packaging and raw materials and maintain accurate delivery dates.
- Utilize the APS tool to build attainable production schedules that meet demand requirements without building obsolete inventory.
- Hold meetings and regular communication with production and other stakeholders to finalize the production schedule.
- Maximize efficiency through optimal sequencing and run sizes.
- Maintain open communication with customer service and logistics to ensure customer orders are shipped on time and in full.
- Assist in logistics activities as needed.
- Collaborate with cycle counters to ensure inventory record accuracy.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 2 plus years’ experience in production planning/scheduling, purchasing, inventory management, or related field.
- Knowledgeable in navigating and utilizing ERP systems. NetSuite preferred.
- Experienced in combining, manipulating, and analyzing datasets in Microsoft Excel.
- Food manufacturing experience preferred.
Work Environment
Sitting at a desk, walking around the office, presenting during meetings.
