Apply principles of financial management and accounting to process financial transactions, analyze financial and product cost information, and prepare reports by compiling information and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures. Provide plant management with financial information, analysis, and recommendations and liaise with corporate finance and accounting functions.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Communicate and champion accounting, budgeting and financial policies and procedures to on-site staff, management, vendors and clients.
  • Collaborate with Accounting department for monthly closing.
  • Analyze and report on inventory levels, inventory costs and cost of goods sold transactions.
  • Provide management with analysis of plant performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Review and update product costing and pricing information.
  • Resolve inventory and cost of goods sold discrepancies through collaboration with Inventory Control audit and cycle count team at plant.
  • Process certain product related information in the ERP system.
  • Compile and report certain operational information to management, such as sales, inventory, production, capacity and production yield.
  • Develop, maintain and coordinate the implementation of accounting procedures at plant.
  • Support corporate Finance and Accounting teams with special projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Review inventory, production, maintenance, and fixed asset system reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Review and analyze plant expenses and overhead calculations.
  • Assist in the preparation of State and Local tax information for regulatory reporting.
  • Establish goals and objectives, and monitor professional development of direct reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises the Labor Specialist and other position(s) as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four‑year college or university with at least six years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
  • CMA preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with direct reports, peers and company leadership.
  • Knowledge of finance, cost accounting, budgeting, inventory valuation and cost control principles including GAAP.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications; Sage X3 preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and strong commitment to data integrity.
  • Knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, analysis and projections.
  • Ability to effectively summarize and clearly communicate in written, verbal and presentation form.
