Based in the heart of San Francisco, California, our clients team is dedicated to innovation, sustainability, and environmental stewardship. If you share these values and are eager to contribute to the clean energy revolution, we want to hear from you

About the Role

As the Director of Project Finance, you’ll be at the forefront of driving the financial success of utility-scale wind, solar (PV), and battery energy storage systems (BESS) projects. This senior-level role is integral to our clients growth, requiring strong leadership in debt, tax equity, and project acquisitions. Located in our clients dynamic San Francisco headquarters, you'll work alongside industry experts and have direct access to C-level leadership, shaping the future of renewable energy financing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead high-impact transactions: Manage equity, debt, tax equity, and innovative capital-raising efforts, including government and strategic capital sources.
  • Project Management: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and internal coordination, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and informed.
  • Tax Credit Strategies: Develop financing solutions related to tax credits and industrial decarbonization projects.
  • Execution Excellence: Handle all aspects of transactions—from marketing and negotiations to investor due diligence and financial modeling.
  • Investor Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, including debt, tax equity, and equity stakeholders.
  • Financial Modeling: Independently create sophisticated financial models and mentor junior staff in developing these critical skills.
  • Collaborate on Financing Strategies: Work closely with leadership to craft innovative, project-specific financing plans.
  • Develop Capital Raising Materials: Create compelling marketing presentations and confidential information memoranda for investors.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Guide and mentor team members, empowering them to communicate effectively across a variety of asset classes and audiences.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education & Experience: BS/BA required; MBA preferred. Minimum 5+ years of experience in project finance, corporate finance, or investment banking, with 3+ years in solar or storage project experience.
  • Industry Expertise: Proven track record in sourcing and managing relationships with project sponsors, investors, and lenders, especially in the renewable energy sector.
  • Financial Acumen: In-depth knowledge of project finance, particularly for solar PV and BESS projects. You must be an Excel wizard, able to independently create and update advanced financial models.
  • Project Developer Insight: Strong experience in working with developers and a deep understanding of the RFP process and key risk factors in project finance.

Why Join?

  • Leadership Exposure: Direct access to our clients executive team, including C-Level management and the Board of Directors.
  • Impactful Work: Be a key player in financing projects that shape the renewable energy landscape and drive global sustainability efforts.
  • Growth Opportunities: Lead groundbreaking financial strategies while mentoring the next generation of project finance leaders.
