Primary Services is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to support a prestigious client in the energy industry. This role is vital in developing and executing enterprise-wide category strategies that drive significant value across the organization, with a strong focus on supply chain and procurement sourcing. As a Senior Sourcing Specialist, you will engage with senior staff to lead sourcing initiatives, negotiate vendor contracts, and mentor other Sourcing Specialists.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage sourcing strategies for assigned commodities and services.
- Provide category expertise through spend analytics, market research, and cost modeling.
- Establish cost models and drive supplier negotiations to leverage spend.
- Monitor industry trends and integrate best practices into sourcing strategies.
- Research and understand the specifications and uses of assigned commodities/services.
- Ensure end-user requirements are met, promote adoption, and provide training.
- Maintain the quality and stability of supply, monitor delivery performance, and identify patterns.
- Define procurement transaction scopes and objectives with clients.
- Ensure Service Level Agreements meet end-user needs.
- Identify opportunities to reduce total costs, manage supply planning, and conduct supplier performance evaluations.
- Lead the procurement process for materials, supplies, and services under tight deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, or procurement.
- Proven track record in developing and executing category strategies.
- Strong negotiation skills with experience in complex contract management.
- Proficiency in spend analytics, market research, and cost modeling.
- Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in sourcing.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage with senior staff.
- Experience mentoring and guiding other professionals is a plus.
