Phoenix, United States Mattur Full time

Company Overview:

Mattur is a cutting-edge renewable energy company whose mission is to accelerate energy independence at the lowest cost.

At the core of our technology is our proprietary PulseTech Adaptive Generator, engineered to produce electricity with substantially less rotational force than traditional generators. We’ve paired that generator with our unique wind turbine design to harness wind energy more effectively than anyone in the market.

Our wind turbines can be placed on virtually any rooftop or scaled up to thousands of units for a utility-sized project. They produce electricity 24 hours a day and can be used stand alone or combined with solar and storage to create an independent renewable power plant. Because our turbines can use low wind speeds, they are placed closer close to the point of use, reducing the need for expensive grid infrastructure. Additionally, their compact form allows for low-cost delivery and installation, making it a versatile and cost-effective solution for any energy need. Join us in revolutionizing the renewable energy landscape and powering a sustainable future.

Position Overview:

Mattur is seeking a skilled electrical engineer with extensive experience in power electronics, invertor design and grid interconnection. This candidate also needs to have experience with the taking electrical products through the UL certification process. This role will play a pivotal part in the development and optimization of innovative products and solutions, ensuring top-tier performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Power Electronics Design

  • Conduct independent analog power and printed circuit board (PCB) design using Altium Designer.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in analog and power circuitry through comprehensive troubleshooting and debugging.
  • Develop and test high-voltage charge control systems for batteries in accordance with UL standards.
  • Engineer scalable power electronics solutions for mass production, leading collaborations with manufacturing partners to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

2. UL Certification

  • Spearhead Mattur's UL certification processes for all products, including mechanical generators, electronics, wind turbines, and diesel/hybrid generators.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with UL certification bodies, managing communications, drafting and maintaining product specifications and manuals, incorporating design modifications, and overseeing testing procedures.

3. Grid Interconnection

  • Work with Mattur commercial team to formulate and implement Mattur’s grid interconnection strategy, leading the technical design
  • Collaborate with utility companies to facilitate Mattur's grid interconnection capabilities.
  • Engineer and develop comprehensive cabling solutions for interconnecting Mattur products, ensuring reliable power transmission for both grid-tied and standalone applications.
  • Develop electrical schematics and connections for off-grid power plants, encompassing solar, wind, batteries, hydro, and other renewable energy sources.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Master’s or PhD degree preferred.
  • Strong understanding electrical design principles.
