Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electronics Engineer to join our team at Southwest Research Institute. As a key member of our spacecraft systems design team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and testing spaceflight electronics hardware for command and control, data storage, signal processing, power generation and distribution, and communications.

Responsibilities:

* Develop hardware solutions for various spacecraft systems
* Support simulation, analysis, and test of hardware to verify technical performance
* Provide input to software and FPGA designs
* Lead and support proposals for space electronics
* Complete documentation efforts associated with hardware designs, including specifications, user manuals, and test plans
* Identify and lead internal research and development efforts
* Mentor lower-level hardware developers and identify training opportunities for entry-level staff

Requirements:

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
* 5 years of experience leading development of hardware for high-reliability applications
* 5 years of experience leading a team of engineers through electrical hardware projects meeting cost, technical, and schedule constraints
* Valid/clear driver's license

Special Requirements:

* Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
* Applicant must be a U.S. citizen

Work Location:

* San Antonio, Texas
