Our client, a well-known culinary product brand, is looking for a Freelance Packaging Production Artist to join their team.
This opportunity is hybrid onsite in NYC Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday and is remote on Mondays/Fridays. The team is looking for support 40hours/week through the end of the year with potential to extend based on performance and business need.
Responsibilities:
- Joining a fast paced team with a high volume of packaging mechanical files to complete on a weekly basis
- Take very clean packaging design files from the packaging designers and follow a rigorous process and check list (doing production checks, updating minor updates/copy fixes) for getting the files production ready to go to China (using Illustrator for all files)
- Work closely with the team in China to streamline and encourage process, you will help define how the team in china works, as they will take directions from you in regards to best process
- Packaging Production Artist is responsible for creation of dielines and mechanical files for a wide range of packaging. Must have a thorough understanding of designing for 3D and of the production and print processes.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience producing packaging production files for high volume production within the beauty/ CPG/ retail space
- Ability to follow a rigorous check list and process for preparing the mechanicals for packaging design files
- Experience with packaging production and mechanicals, die lines, print production process
- Excellent and strong communication skills to discuss with internal team and support the overseas China team on the process
- Proficient in Adobe InDesign, especially Illustrator
- Experience working with outside vendors ideal
