Summary:

A leading Medical Device company are actively seeking a motivated candidate to fill their EHS Engineer I opportunity. This is a 12-month contract based in Irvine, CA. Salary ranges between $40-45/hour depending on experience.

The main function of an environmental engineer is to design and lead EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) operational strategies and process improvements.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 0-2 years of experience required.
  • Substantial understanding and knowledge of EPA, OSHA, local, and federal regulations.
  • Proven expertise in usage of MS Office Suite.
  • Strong documentation, communication and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills.


Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate environmental and/or safety needs with focus on any of the following: air permitting, wastewater solutions, ergonomics, and/or hazardous materials; propose options and implementation plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and lead the implementation of processes to ensure compliance with EHS goals and programs.
  • Investigate cause for EHS incidents from employees and deviations from compliance and recommend sound corrective and preventive measures to avoid recurrence and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders.
