Distribution Center Coordinator JobArmstrong World Industries has a job opportunity for a Distribution Center (DC) Coordinator to be located at our ceiling plant in Marietta, PA. Reporting to the Distribution Center Supervisor, the DC Coordinator will be responsible for the effective planning, coordination, and direction of all inbound and outbound shipments and receipts over a 3-shift operation. This position follows an alternating weekly schedule between 1st shift (6:00 AM 2:00 PM) and 2nd shift (2:00 PM 10:00 PM).What's in it for you?Dynamic, High-Impact Work: Engage in hands-on logistics, scheduling, and problem-solving that directly support efficient customer order fulfillment.Professional Growth Environment: Work with advanced systems like SAP and SCALE (WMS) while collaborating cross-functionally in a well-established manufacturing organization.Operational Influence: Play a central role in optimizing shipping, receiving, and inventory processes across a 3-shift distribution operation.What does the Distribution Center Coordinator do?Processes inbound and outbound shipment ordersPlans loading and inbound shipment receipt schedulesPlans the schedule for outbound shipments to maximize productivityDirects drivers and unitizing/job pack crews to complete loads, including loading dock door assignmentCommunicates with carriers to schedule and expedite shipments and resolve conflictsProcesses load lists and prioritize loads for the warehouse palletizing and unitizing crew to build mixed loadsWorks with customer service, using the SCALE (Manhattan) Warehouse Management System (WMS) and SAP to create computer generated load listsResolves workflow issues between SAP and SCALEProcesses and ensure the accuracy of all shipment paperworkAllocates and deallocates inventory and update batches as neededAssists in ensuring inventory accuracyInvestigate, troubleshoots, and corrects order variances by communicating with customer service, production planning, Distribution Center personnel, and any other groups involved in processing customer ordersOrganizes and prioritizes the unloading of all inbound orders for the receiving crew, including setting the unload dock door assignmentsServes as relief supervisor as needed and can manage the workforce in the absence of the regular supervisor.
