SUMMARY

The Outreach Coordinator aids in community outreach as well as implements and coordinates the administration of programs offered by the Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center (CIVOC) to our veteran clients and their families. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, staffing, leading, marketing and controlling programs and activities. The Outreach Coordinator serves as liaison to community and regional organizations that collaborate with the mission of (CIVOC).


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Outreach Coordinator performs a wide range of duties including some or all the following:

Plan the programs


1.In coordination with the Outreach & Programs Manager, plan the delivery of certain components of our programs as well as any outreach/ awareness activities planned by the organization in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization.

2.Identify and develop creative initiatives, with the goal of engaging as many community collaborators as possible. Those veteran service providers, community-based partners, behavioral health providers, schools, and councils on aging. The ultimate purpose is to achieve a better understanding of the veteran perspective within the community which leads to increased community support.

3.Implement the program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the program, measurable results and to identify areas for improvement.

4.Identify and develop funding proposals for the programs that ensure the continuous delivery of services.


Organize the programs


1.Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization.

2.Ensure that program activities comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards.

3.Develop electronic forms and records to document and report program activities.

4.Oversee the collection and maintenance of records and related data on the clients of the programs offered for analysis to measure impact and results of programs in accordance with the confidentiality/privacy policy of the organization. 


Staff the programs


1.In consultation with the Outreach & Programs Manager, recruit, interview and select

well-qualified program staff, volunteers, and third-party partners engaged in the delivery of programs.

2.Engage, manage, recruit, and assist in the training of volunteers in support of appropriate program activities.


Lead the programs

1.Participate in conducting needs assessments related to programs offered.

2.Collaborate with community stakeholders in the creation and implementation of programs so that they meet the needs of veteran clients and the individual stakeholders.

3.Partner with internal and external resources engaged in the creation and delivery of new programs.

Control the programs


1.Write reports on all programs that highlight appropriate details, results, and client impact for management and for donors.

2.Manage the design and delivery of all programs within established budgets.

3.Ensure that all financial records for the program are accurate and current.

4.Identify and evaluate the risks associated with program activities and take appropriate action to control and mitigate the risks.

5.Monitor the program activities on a regular basis, conduct an annual evaluation and present findings and recommendations to the Outreach & Programs Manager.

6.Other duties as assigned by the Outreach & Programs Manager.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS


•Associate’s degree preferred

•MA Drivers License 

•Knowledge of program management

•Knowledge of client groups and/or issues related to the program

•Experience training and managing volunteers

•2 to 4 years’ experience designing and delivering programs in a non-profit setting

•Strong public speaking ability

•Computer Skills-Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office Products.

•Must be able to lift 50 pounds
