Occupational Health Nurse

An aerospace client is looking for a Part-time Registered Nurse who will provide nursing services and first aid to employees or persons who become ill or injured at work facilities.


Location: Sunnyvale, CA 94086

Position: Part-time Registered Nurse

Pay Rate: $50+/hr. depending on experience

Duration: 24 months or longer

Schedule: Thursday-Friday, 6:00 am - 3:00 pm - may be asked to provide additional support to cover time off of other nurses


Responsibilities:

  1. Respond to emergencies and administer first aid to employees for job related illnesses and injuries.
  2. Deliver OSHA and job/site/contract required surveillance program services (i.e. hearing conservation, respiratory protection, visual acuity, bloodborne pathogens, biological monitoring, etc.) to identified employee populations in collaboration with Environmental Health and Safety. Note: most of these services are performed offsite by an outside clinic, but the nurse will be responsible for scheduling, obtaining and reviewing all results from the clinic.
  3. Maintain accurate recordkeeping in electronic medical records system (Cority) in compliance with OSHA requirements.
  4. Dispense OTC Medications.
  5. Work with industrial toxicology and/or hygienists to recognize environmental factors and/or stresses in or from the workplace that may cause sickness, impaired health, or discomfort among the workers. Nurse will assist in providing appropriate training to management and employees.
  6. Maintain compliance with laws, regulations and standards governing occupational health and safety for employees and the workplace.


Required Basic Qualifications:

  1. At least 5+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse with Associate of Science in Nursing
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail and internet navigation
  3. Strong presentation skills
  4. Ability to work independently or with a team on special projects
  5. Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills
  6. Strong attention to detail
  7. Ability to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously
  8. Ability to maintain confidential documents and information
  9. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at one time under tight deadlines
  10. Ability to function within all levels of organization and at various locations


Required Certifications:

CPR/BLS


Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
  2. 2+ years in occupational health


Preferred Certifications:

  1. Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC)
  2. Spirometry (NIOSH approved course optimal)
  3. Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN)
  4. Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES)
