Job Description:

We are looking for someone with a business analyst skill set to help us identify, design, and drive the implementation of new automated auditing opportunities across the US Corporate Audit teams with a specific focus on the Global Markets, Global Banking, and Market Risk areas. The role will involve working closely with the line of business auditors to identify new automation opportunities and with the Automation development teams to deliver the tools needed to enhance and support audit work.

Working with all levels of the Audit team from Senior Audit Director to Senior Auditor, you will be one of three business analysts covering the automation developments for all the audit activities in the Global Markets, Global Banking, and Market Risk audit team globally as well as audit activities in the International Audit team. This specific role will focus on the US Corporate Audit teams, your peers being based in EMEA and APAC respectively. You will work under the supervision of the Senior Quantitative Finance Manager for Market Risk and Automation. This team has been the lead innovator in identifying new automation tools in Corporate Audit, implementing the first Python scripted tools, the first model-based audit testing, and driving the delivery of self-service data interfaces. Team members will be able to network across the Bank with the various teams developing innovative data tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing guidance and support to audit teams as they identify new automation opportunities.
  • Autonomously identify new use cases for automation tools and work on proof of concept to assess usefulness.
  • Supporting, writing, and managing the definition of business requirements and functional requirements, as required, to convert automation ideas into usable automated functionality in audit testing or risk monitoring.
  • Monitoring and assisting the Automation development teams to drive timely and quality delivery of automation capabilities.
  • Working with the Automation development teams to assess skill and infrastructure needs based on the pipeline of new tools needed to support the audit team.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Understands the basics of the software development lifecycle and the role of the business analyst within it.
  • Understands internal audit’s role and objectives and how automation can be leveraged for risk monitoring or control testing.
  • Has a strong interest in exploring new automation developments and assessing them for their potential applicability to auditing.
  • Can identify ways to exploit automation tools for audit testing and risk monitoring.,
  • Can translate automation ideas into business and functional requirements that a software developer can use.
  • Can quickly understand and exploit the metadata of commonly used data sources to be able to assist developers in fine-tuning automation reports to meet the audit objective.
  • A good communicator who can explain the advantages of, and train auditors on, new automation tools.

Required Skills:

  • Has a minimum of 5-8 years of experience across a combination of relevant experiences in at least two of audits, business development analyses, and global markets/market risk.
  • Has practical experience developing programmatic approaches to enhance business routine productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness and/or experience in the development lifecycle for applications/systems to enhance business routine productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Has sustained experience effectively communicating with both technical and business audiences/stakeholders.
