Our client is offering an exciting opportunity for an up-and-coming Construction Engineer to join our team and contribute to our expansion and capital improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess robust project management skills and a solid grasp of essential building systems and overall building operations. While the primary focus of this role will be on projects located in Kansas City, MO, and St. Louis, MO, there is also the possibility of supporting various projects within the broader portfolio.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Lead and supervise construction projects within the comapny portfolio from inception to completion, collaborating closely with construction and site teams.
  • Assist in project budgeting and cost estimation processes.
  • Address and resolve any issues that arise with subcontractors, engineers, architects, and other project contributors.
  • Organize and document all project meetings effectively.
  • Review and authorize payment applications, including closeout documents.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and building codes throughout project execution.
  • Assess, communicate, and mitigate project risks as they arise.
  • Foster collaboration among subcontractors, engineers, architects, and key project stakeholders.
  • Maintain project timelines and ensure deadlines are met consistently.
  • Provide regular progress reports to stakeholders to keep them informed.
  • Manage environmental and community concerns that may arise during projects.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality standards.
  • Cultivate professional relationships with contractors and tenants, maintaining ethical conduct.
  • Stay updated on advancements in construction technology to enhance project efficiencies.
  • Participate in additional projects or assignments as required.


Position Requirements and Desired Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, business development, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong preference for experience in the data center or telecommunications industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in construction management, preferably 5+ years.
  • Proficiency in construction management processes, means, and methods.
  • Knowledge of building products, construction details, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Familiarity with construction management software.
  • Competent in conflict resolution and crisis management.
  • Exceptional time and project management abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Word and Excel; familiarity with MRI, Avid, Procore, BIM, Primavera, or MS Project is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Detail-oriented problem solver with a collaborative and solution-oriented approach.
  • Experience working independently and collaboratively, effectively managing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong cross-functional teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards.
