The Thornton Tomasetti Construction Engineering Practice leverages our core Structural Engineering expertise to meet the engineering needs of our contractor, steel fabricator, and erector clients. We provide connection design, erection engineering, contractor support engineering, and the design of structures delegated to the contractor. We also partner with contractors and sub-contractors to provide value engineering ideas and perform structural design on design-build projects. This position is ideal for someone who has a passion for Construction Engineering work and enjoys working with contractors and sub-contractors in a fast-paced environment.

The Role:

The Tekla Modeler will perform the functions of creating project deliverable drawings and models using the current versions of available software. Work includes 3D parametric modeling, representation, and annotation of 3D information detailing for complex projects. The candidate should be able to work in a self-directed manner in all aspects of the building design and document production process.

The Responsibilities:

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and fabricators to gather necessary information for project execution.

Review drawings for compliance with codes and standards, works detailers to ensure accurate fabrication drawings and plans.

Conduct quality checks on completed deliverables to verify accuracy and completeness. Prepare project documentation, effectively communicating project status and potential risks.

The Requirements:

Experience in steel detailing and knowledge of fabrication processes.

Proficient in Tekla Structures.

Attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.

An associate degree in Detailing or similar, with a minimum of 1-year structural steel detailing experience.

Familiarity with construction processes and building codes.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
