Job Summary
Serves as a survey field team member supporting and performing a variety of survey functions to determine the precise location of property boundaries and CNP facilities with the measurement of lines, area, contours, elevations, angles and points for a variety of purposes. Assists with recording and compiling data, notes and sketches to describe work performed.
Essential Functions
- Performs various survey activities to efficiently support the survey crew/team, including:
- Moves, places and holds range poles, level rods or other surveying equipment.
- Sets (hammers into the ground) various stakes, iron rods hubs, etc.
- Cleans, maintains, and stocks survey vehicle with supplies needed to perform daily tasks.
- Assists Survey Team to locate facilities using a total station, sub-surface locating devices, global positioning equipment, levels, etc.
- Maintains cleans and adjusts equipment to ensure that required accuracy can be obtained.
- Coordinates activities and maintains communications between crew/team members and chief.
Education Description
- Requires a high school education or equivalent knowledge.
- Certifications as a Survey Technician a plus.
Experience
- Requires a minimum of one (1) years of a technical field related experience.
- Must have a working mathematical knowledge of basic Algebra & Trigonometry.
- Ability to read and understand land related documents.
- Ability to use and understand computers using Microsoft Office, Survey Programs such as Trimble Global Positioning Software.
