DESCRIPTION:


We are looking for an experienced teacher to provide private and personalized homeschool education to 1 child based in North Carolina, United States. The ideal teaching setup is in-person 3 times a week and online 2 times a week, but is negotiable upon discussion. The average teaching hours are 4 hours a day, with flexibility on some days, finishing earlier or later, depending on topic/activity/situation for the day.


This job description is subject to modification based on the evolving needs of the student and his educational journey. Any modification will be discussed between the parent and teacher before it is implemented.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Curriculum Development and Instructional Design - Create a comprehensive curriculum plan for English, Math, Science, Geography, History, Social Studies, Art, Music, Health, Computer Science, Foreign Language, and Bible Studies. The curriculum will be broken down into 4 semesters per school year - each semester shall include English, Math, Science, and Bible Studies, while the other subjects shall be spread out across the semesters.
  • Daily Life Integrations - Incorporate weekly scriptures and provide encouragement and guidance in student's spiritual growth and development. Integrate AI education into daily life skills to familiarize student with its practical applications. Include farming as a separate lesson to educate student on sustainable agricultural practices and environmental stewardship. Explore concepts of entrepreneurship and business management to nurture student's understanding of running and growing a business.
  • Collaboration and Planning - Work closely with the parent to develop a structured curriculum and schedule for each semester, aligning with educational standards and student needs.
  • Student-Parent-Teacher Communication - Conduct bi-monthly meetings with student and parent to monitor progress, address concerns, and set goals.
  • Community Engagement - Facilitate student involvement in a homeschool community to interact with other students who are homeschooling or online schooling, fostering social interaction and collaboration.
  • Educational Assessment - Administer weekly tests to assess student's understanding of specific subjects, providing feedback for improvement.
  • Conflict Resolution - Promptly notify parent of any issues that arise between student and teacher, implementing effective resolution strategies.
  • Field Trips - Plan and executive 2 city-based educational trips and 1 out-of-town educational trip, adhering to budgetary constraints (USD 500 for city-based trips, USD 2,000 for out-of-town trips).


REQUIREMENTS:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Psychology, or related field
  • Proven work experience as an educator
  • Able to travel to student's home for in-person teaching session days
  • Able to provide conducive learning environment for online teaching session days
