Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Lead with expertise in AWS and Python to join our team in Piscataway, NJ who can effectively manage and support a portfolio of 45 different client applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Python development, AWS cloud services, team leadership, and client coordination and will work closely with business units to gather requirements, collaborate with team members to understand, and document requirements, and provide daily status updates to management. Additionally, the candidate will have the capacity to work with multiple teams (A and B) across different geographical locations to discuss and drive solutions.


Technical Expertise:

Python Proficiency:

Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code.

Understanding of Python libraries and frameworks relevant to the project (e.g., Pyspark).

Implementing best practices for Python development.


AWS Proficiency:

Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, etc.

Architecting scalable and secure cloud-based solutions.

Managing AWS resources and optimizing cloud expenses.


Leadership and Coordination:

Team Management:

Leading a diverse team of software developers, possibly with various levels of expertise.

Distributing tasks effectively based on team members' strengths.

Ensuring the professional growth of team members through mentorship and training.

Client Stakeholder Coordination:

Acting as the primary point of contact between the development team and the client.

Understanding client requirements and translating them into technical specifications.

Managing expectations and ensuring that deliverables meet client needs.


Project Management:

Agile Methodologies:

Implementing and managing Agile processes like Scrum or Kanban.

Conducting regular stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Tracking project progress using tools like JIRA or Trello.


Communication:

Facilitating effective communication within the team.

Resolving conflicts and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Clearly conveying project status and technical concepts to stakeholders.

Negotiating timelines and scope changes when necessary.


Problem-Solving:

Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues as they arise.

Analyzing complex systems and making decisions based on multiple factors.


Additional Considerations:

Being able to work with and lead team members from varied geographical parts..


Certifications: Having relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, PMP, CSM) could be beneficial.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Java Backend Developer, with a focus on backend application development and integration with multiple teams.
  • Strong understanding of Java/J2EE concepts and Java backend application development.
  • Proficiency in microservices architecture, understanding of devops tools, with Gitlab being preferable.
  • Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring JDBC, and Hikari Connection Pooling for backend application development.
  • Good understanding of application security standards such as OWASP and OAuth2.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure components and single sign-on implementations.
  • Experience with SQL and PL SQL, with a preference for Sybase and Oracle.
  • Familiarity with SDLC, Release Control, and Agile methodology.
