We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results Geotab is seeking a Technical Product Manager (Platform) who will own and drive the product strategy and roadmap for Geotab‘s core platform, ensuring its scalability, performance, and extensibility. This includes collaborating closely with the infrastructure, integrations, and API teams to deliver a seamless experience for developers and end-users. What you‘ll do:

As a Technical Product Manager (Platform), your key area of responsibility will be defining and championing the product vision for Geotab‘s platform. In this role, you will need to work closely with engineering, product management, and business stakeholders across the organization to ensure the platform meets the evolving needs of Geotab‘s products and services.To be successful in this role you will be a strong communicator and collaborator with a proven track record in technical product management. In addition, the successful candidate will have a solid technical understanding of platform architecture, API design, and software development best practices. Experience with SaaS platforms and Agile methodologies is also essential.

How you‘ll make an impact
  • The primary role is to truly understand the customer and its associated market.

  • Work closely with the infrastructure team to ensure the platform can handle Geotab‘s growing data volume and user base. This involves defining requirements for scalability, reliability, and performance, and collaborating on capacity planning and infrastructure improvements.

  • Collaborate with the integrations team to define and prioritize native integrations with other systems. This includes identifying key integration partners, developing integration strategies, and ensuring seamless data flow between Geotab‘s platform and third-party applications.

  • Partner with the API team to ensure the Geotab API is robust, well-documented, and easy to use. This includes defining API requirements, overseeing API design and development, and monitoring API performance and usage.

  • Perform customer discovery interviews with prospective and existing customers and partners to identify product gaps and generate news ideas for continuous value add for existing customers, grow market share for new customers and to overall improve Geotab‘s customer experience.

  • Leverage various research methodologies and customer inputs to identify common. patterns, pain points, problems to be solved/jobs to be done and use this to identify relevant solution opportunities/product efforts.

  • Develop a product roadmap and align internal stakeholders to the developed roadmap strategy.

  • Work closely with senior members of the team and product leadership to provide input on the long term vision of the product.

  • Work with cross functional teams (Design, Engineering, Marketing, Support and others) to build and execute the product development and go to market strategy for key roadmap deliverables.

  • Prioritize building what matters most by balancing short term sales targets with long term strategic investments for the business.

  • Collaboratively define and drive reporting and monitoring mechanisms against set product outcomes and use them as a tool to measure continued success of product efforts (both qualitative and quantitative).

  • Collaborate with other product managers on designing and executing market feedback loops and incorporate them into product planning. This includes participating in win-loss interviews and analysis, identifying hard sales blockers and soft sales objections in sales, and conducting feedback, satisfaction, and effectiveness interviews and analysis for retention and referral.

  • Clearly communicate the ‘Why‘ for every product effort and educate other stakeholders on the problems to be solved, business objectives, etc. Leverage this in collaboration with UX designers, developers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to conduct problem and solution validation, translate customer needs into user stories and feature epics, and define the work needed to bring the product effort to life. Additionally, prioritize epics relative to technical debt and other company product investments.

  • Help improve the Product Management practice at Geotab.

  • Self starter, resourceful with strong analytical skills with the ability to problem-solve to well-judged decisions.

What you‘ll bring to the role
  • 3-5 years of experience ideally in product management and/or customer discovery or related field.

  • Experience in a SaaS environment is highly valued.

  • Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree specialization in Engineering, Business, Computer Science or a related field highly valued.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Good listener, empathetic and enjoy interacting with customers.

  • Ability to stitch together disparate insights to uncover common patterns.

  • Strong presentation skills (in person and virtually) and ability to deliver training effectively.

  • Self starter, resourceful with strong analytical skills with the ability to problem-solve to well-judged decisions.

  • Strategic mindset, with a keen sense of priorities, along with an ability to pivot as the landscape changes.

  • Strong team player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.

  • Well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills.

  • Must stay relevant to technology and should have the flexibility to adapt to the growing technology and market demands.

  • Demonstrated experience and strong understanding of user engagement metrics and product KPIs to drive data-informed decision-making and enhance product performance.

  • Strong organizational skills to be able to manage products through discovery to launch and continuous review.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.

  • Agile planning methods and practices.
