The ideal candidate understands commitment, contribution, development, and communication.What you will do:Undertake facade design, detailing and analysis, and participate in testing, fabrication and construction administration.Advise architects and clients on building enclosure performance, constructability, and durability.Conduct/oversee field review and progress inspection on designated projects.Document and maintain well written reports on project related activity, including progression of work from initial proposal though completion.Ensure familiarity with building codes in local markets.Advise management on related project performance, key issues, status, scheduling, effort of work and estimates for completion.Communicate effectively and establish relationships with clients and job-related management teams.Produce details via hand sketching and using 2D and 3D CAD packages as required.Provide cross-functional support to ensure client needs and internal timelines/project activities are completed.Break down technical needs/deliverable; assist in managing budgetary project requirements.Provide manpower updates and resource availability.Occasional presentation of white paper/case studies to technical teams.Manage staff or team and foster training/mentoring.Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.Qualifications5-10 years experience in building enclosure consulting and project managementRegistered Architect in the State of IllinoisExperience with client relations, preparation of construction documents, bidding, and construction administration.Experience with quality assurance reviews with construction drawings and specifications.Experience with detailed-level reviews of Division 07 and 08 submittal and shop drawings.Familiar with exterior curtain wall, window wall, glass, masonry, concrete, air-barrier, coating, sealant, and metal panel systems.Familiar with roofing and below-grade waterproofing systems.Additional InformationSOCOTEC offers generous compensation packages including salary, benefits & bonus based upon relevant experience.
