Job Description:
The Senior Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing all construction activities and managing a team of Field Construction Coordinators. This role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of construction management, exceptional leadership abilities, and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Field Construction Coordinators, ensuring they have the necessary support and resources to succeed.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages professional growth and development.
- Project Oversight:
- Oversee the development and execution of Construction Work Packages (CWPs) to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Monitor and control project schedules, budgets, and resources to achieve project milestones and financial targets.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure field operations are progressing as planned and to address any issues promptly.
- Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize project efficiency and performance.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure all construction activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Implement rigorous quality control procedures and conduct regular inspections to uphold project quality.
- Ensure all documentation, including permits, licenses, and contracts, are accurately maintained and up-to-date.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders.
- Prepare and present detailed project reports, including progress updates, financial status, and risk assessments, to senior management and clients.
- Facilitate effective communication between project teams, stakeholders, and clients.
- Resource Management:
- Oversee the allocation and management of project resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Ensure efficient use of resources to optimize project productivity and cost-effectiveness.
- Job Safety Oversight and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
- Ensure all team members and subcontractors are trained in and comply with safety standards and regulations.
- Lead incident investigations, document findings, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
- Extensive experience overseeing large-scale construction projects and managing multidisciplinary teams.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, practices, and industry standards.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Construction Management (CCM).
- Master’s degree in Construction Management or a related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
- Experience with complex and high-value construction projects.
