Paid Summer Internship: Part-Time, Six-Week Internship

We Include is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a culture of inclusion for individuals with disabilities in workplaces, schools, and everyday life. We Include is the sister organization of local nonprofit, Help Us Gather, which advocates for social inclusion and creates social events and opportunities for individuals with disabilities in Tampa Bay. We are looking for several college students to assist us for a six-week internship during the months of June and July. The intern role will be part of a team working on a special research project to improve the lives of students with disabilities. Alongside nonprofit staff, the team will examine the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), current disability policy, and proposed disability legislation. We will also examine classroom accommodations and create resources for teachers and school administrators to use to offer the best learning environment possible for students with disabilities. In addition to research and policy analysis, the intern team will create attractive marketing materials and video content to be featured on


This opportunity is open to current college students who have completed two years of coursework toward a bachelor’s degree. 


The ideal candidate for this position is friendly, organized, hard-working, enjoys a collaborative work environment and is driven by creating impact in other people’s lives.


Skills Needed:


Policy Analysis (Political Science or Pre Law)

WordPress

Graphic Design

Final Cut or Adobe Premiere

Marketing

Business Writing

Work hours are three days per week from 11 AM to 4 PM in our Clearwater, FL office. Details will be provided to applicants during the interview process.


Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrate sensitivity, tact, and professionalism in dealing with others
  • Extremely organized and efficient with time
  • Energetic and outgoing
  • Current college student with at least two years of coursework completed
  • College GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Positive demeanor
  • Ability to work 11 AM to 4 PM three days per week and one, weekend event in both June and July (Date TBD). The weekend event will entail helping to host large social events for adults with disabilities.
  • Volunteer experience a plus
