Sr. Account Executive, Digital Political, Ad SalesThe DIRECTV Ad Sales organization is seeking an experienced and driven Sr. Account Executive to join our Digital Political Ad Sales team. This role will focus on managing existing client relationships, building new business, and driving revenue through the sale of digital advertising solutions, with a strong emphasis on programmatic ad sales, within the political landscape. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of programmatic advertising, digital media, political advertising cycles, and client relationship management. This position plays a crucial role in our organization's success by developing tailored media strategies for political clients, ensuring campaign performance, and maximizing revenue opportunities throughout election cycles.Here's what you'll do:Manage and cultivate relationships with existing political clients, including agencies, PACs, campaigns, and media buyers.Identify, prospect, and engage with new political clients to expand our client base and revenue opportunities.Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets, with a focus on digital advertising channels, including programmatic ad buying.Collaborate with clients to create customized media plans that align with their campaign objectives, target audiences, and budgets.Monitor campaign performance metrics, analyze results, and recommend optimizations to maximize effectiveness and ROI.Leverage programmatic technology to enhance audience targeting, maximize inventory yield, and improve campaign performance.Lead the entire sales process from initial outreach to closing deals, including pitching, proposal development, negotiation, and contract execution.Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication, timely updates, and proactive support throughout campaign lifecycles.Stay informed about political trends, election cycles, emerging digital technologies, and best practices in political and programmatic advertising.Collaborate with internal teams (operations, creative, analytics) to ensure flawless campaign execution and client satisfaction.Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to prospective and existing clients.Develop a deep understanding of clients' political objectives and translate them into effective advertising strategies.Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activities, and campaign performance in CRM systems.Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to build relationships and stay current with market trends.Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas and KPIs.Provide market intelligence and competitive insights to inform product development and sales strategies.What you'll need to be successful:Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Political Science, Business, or related field preferred.5 years of experience in digital media sales, with specific experience in programmatic ad sales.Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in digital advertising.Strong understanding of programmatic advertising platforms (such as DSPs, SSPs, and ad exchanges), targeting capabilities, data-driven ad buying, and campaign optimization techniques.Knowledge of the political landscape, election cycles, and campaign finance regulations.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Strong negotiation abilities and proven closing skills.Experience working with ad tech partners, managing programmatic deal structures, and optimizing real-time bidding strategies.Proficiency in analyzing campaign data and making data-driven recommendations.Experience with CRM systems and sales management tools.Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships at multiple levels.Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills.Adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak political seasons.Problem-solving mindset with the ability to overcome objections and find creative solutions.Team player who can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.This Sr. Account Executive, Digital Political, Ad Sales position offers an exciting opportunity for a sales professional to make a significant impact in the dynamic world of political advertising.
