Fanatics is also dedicated to making a positive impact in the communities where we all live, work, and play through strategic philanthropic initiatives.Supervisor, AccountingObjectives of the role:•Provide financial leadership by managing the general accounting and reporting activities to ensure accurate and timely compliance with all internal and external reporting requirements.•Help foster a culture of continuous improvement mind-set, drive change within the department•Assist with financial statement write-ups and analysis (BS, P&L, and Cash Flow) for month-end, quarter-end and year-end close•Assist with driving compliance with GAAP and implementation of new standards•Must be a forward looking, proactive leader with business experience in increasingly complex businesses, across geographies and business channels.•Must be an experienced, collaborative accounting professional with the background and interpersonal skills sufficient to function successfully in a growth-enabling and challenging position.•Must demonstrate the ability to implement new concepts, ideas, integration of new businesses, and systems as needed.•Must have the ability to embrace and assume ownership of various processes and reports.•Attention to detail, superior organizational and project management skills, and exceptional communication skills are important.Key Responsibilities:Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:•Provide accounting, processing, and analytical support for general accounting activities. Collection, tracking, analyzing, reporting and reconciliation of accounting activity on a daily, weekly and monthly basis•Develop in-depth knowledge of systems, data, and reporting tools as well as understanding of the business processes related to assigned general ledger accounts, including transaction flow.•Book monthly accruals and prepare monthly account reconciliations. Assisting with ad hoc requests as needed•Assist as needed in support of Wholesale, eComm, and Retail businesses•Prepare and record required journal entries for certain entities including daily transactions and monthly expense allocations•Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly schedules used in the preparation and completion of the month-end closing process•Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts•Support the training and development of staff•Review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by direct report(s)•Improve financial status by analyzing results and variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions•Recommend updates to accounting policies related to improving processes and procedures•Perform duties in compliance with GAAP, company and department policies and procedures, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements•Assist accounting management on any and all accounting related issues•Prepare ad hoc financial reporting requests, other analyses and special projects requested by managementQualifications:•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field required•CPA designation a major plus•Minimum 5-10 years of accounting experience preferred•Public accounting experience a plus•Ability to handle multiple tasks and stringent deadlines within a fast-paced environment is a must•Ability to organize and prioritize•Must have strong analytical skills•Must have excellent communication skills – verbal and written•Ability to effectively work with multiple departments, at all levels of the organization•Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel – experience in Pivot Tables andVLookups are a +•Strong attention to detailEnsure your Fanatics job offer is legitimate and don’t fall victim to fraud.
