Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements for assigned REIT properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and REIT regulations.
  2. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and tenant billing.
  3. General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring entries are accurate and in accordance with established procedures.
  4. Financial Analysis: Perform variance analysis and financial forecasting to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  5. Tax Compliance: Assist with tax filings and compliance related to REIT-specific tax regulations and requirements.
  6. Audit Support: Coordinate and assist in audits conducted by external auditors, ensuring all documentation is provided and inquiries are addressed promptly.
  7. Operational Support: Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support operational initiatives as they relate to financial matters.
  8. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting procedures and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  9. Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on changes in REIT regulations and ensure the organization's practices remain compliant with all applicable laws and guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in the real estate or REIT industry.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and familiarity with REIT regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
