PATIENT INTAKE REFERRAL SPECIALIST - FT Opportunity (M-F 2p-10:30p)

West Oaks Hospital has provided psychiatric care to the Houston area and surrounding communities for over four decades. Our 176-bed acute care facility is fully accredited and included a 16-bed residential treatment center for adult chemical dependency. We offer a broad range of behavioral health programs for children, adolescents and adults. Treatment is offered at multiple levels of care including inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient.

We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist you and answer your questions about treatment options and insurance coverage. The hospital is easily accessible off the Southwest Freeway near the Galleria.

West Oaks Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented full-time Patient Intake Referral Specialist to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals. The Patient Intake Referral Specialist receives calls from referral sources for psychiatric assessment and/or admission, takes demographic information and relevant information to properly assist and close out the call., Thorough and accurate documentation of calls and other related paperwork is a critical component of the job

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Answers phones in a call-center environment and takes demographic information related to the person to be assessed or admitted.
  • Ensures all calls, faxes, and referrals are addressed, logged and placed on the MOT board.
  • Assists Intake staff with commitment process, paperwork and transfer process, if necessary.
  • Ensure patient referrals are verified through insurance verification systems.
  • Manage Xferall referrals within timely limits.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

High School diploma or GED from an accredited school. Bachelor‘s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or Social Services field preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

N/A

EXPERIENCE

Prefer knowledge of crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomology, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management. Prefer experience with MS4.
