DEPARTMENT: Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) & Legacy of Healing (LOH)



JOB SUMMARY: Provide culturally competent and trauma informed emotional support, guidance, information, and advocacy services to children who have been victims of sexual abuse. Provide advocacy services such as crisis intervention, resource referrals, safety planning, and coordination with law enforcement, health professionals, and community agencies for victims. Assist with completing necessary paperwork, documents, and reports.



COMPENSATION: $25.31 hr.



MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION



High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Associate Degree in Human Services or related field. * Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.

MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE



One (1) year experience working with and advocating for trauma victims
One (1) year experience utilizing Microsoft Office programs
One (1) year experience working in an office environment

SKILLS TESTING



Typing 30 WPM

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES



WA State Driver’s License. (Personal Auto Insurance)
Must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulations. (Abstract Required)
CPR/First Aide Certificate. * Will allow three (3) months from start date to obtain.
40 hours Advocate Core training *Will allow six (6) months from start date to obtain.
15 hours OCVA approved initial sexual assault training *Will allow three (3) months from start date to obtain.
15 hours OCVA culturally and/or linguistically appropriate initial sexual assault training *Will allow three (3) months from start date to obtain.
Complete annual training of 12 hours WCSAP approved ongoing sexual assault training.
Must be eligible to work in a designated Safe Zone per Title 4. Section 4.25.680
Must abide by the Departments vaccination policy
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a grant funded Contracted position up for renewal annually.
