JOB SUMMARY: Victim Advocates are expected to provide culturally sensitive and trauma informed advocacy, emotional support to adults or children who have been victims of crime. Provide advocacy services and support such as crisis intervention, resource referrals, safety planning, and coordination with law enforcement, health professionals, and community agencies for victims. Assist with completing necessary paperwork, and reports. Assist the Lead Family Advocate or Director with departmental work and special projects.



COMPENSATION: $23.25 hr.



MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION



High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Associate Degree in Human Services or related field. * Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.

MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE



One (1) year experience working with and advocating for trauma victims
One (1) year experience utilizing Microsoft Office programs
One (1) year working in an office environment

SKILLS TESTING



Typing 30 wpm

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES



WA State Driver’s License and must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulations (Personal Auto Insurance & Abstract Required) Must have reliable vehicle to perform job duties.
40 hours advocacy training or obtain within 6 month of hire date.
Complete 8 hours DEI Training. *will allow thirty (30) days from start date to obtain, must maintain every two (2) years.
Complete Mandated Reporter training annually.
Must be eligible to work in a designated Safe Zone per Title 4. Section 4.25.680
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a grant funded contracted position.
