Reporting to the President this position will play a crucial role as part of the leadership team with responsibility for all aspects of finance and accounting including providing strategic financial solutions companywide vision and leadership for financial operations managing projects enhancing policies and procedures and leading and managing the company s budgeting efforts.
- Oversee the companys financial activities and ensures the accurate and timely dissemination of internal management reports including but not limited to key performance indicators labor distribution bank reconciliations profit and loss statements and cash flow projections.
- Review and establish policies standards practices and security measures to assure effective efficient and consistent accounting and financial operations and enforce internal controls.
- Identify and report on developing trends and relevant performance metrics; work with Leadership Team and departments to identify operational issues impacting financial results and participate in the development of operational strategies to mitigate the issues identified.
- Manage and monitor A/R and A/P to maintain proper cash flow requirements.
- Analyze company operations to pinpoint opportunities for improvement and areas for cost savings and efficiency.
- Support leadership team with business analytics and insights. Provides consultative support for planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses reports and recommendations.
- Ensure company s financial policies comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and all financial reporting accurately reflects the condition of the business and provide reliable information necessary to control operations.
- Supervise train and evaluate Accounting Department staff.
- Experience in directing the overall financial function with responsibility for treasury accounting budget tax and audit activities of the company.
- 10 years of finance function and management experience most recently as a Director of Finance or Controller.
- Ideally the candidate would have experience in construction and/or mechanical contracting.
- Experience using Viewpoint Vista software a plus.
- Extensive GAAP knowledge including cost accounting.
- Extensive budget preparation management and review experience.
- Experience preparing monthly financials for leadership team.
- Excellent forecasting modeling KPI development and monitoring experience; strong focus on analytics.
- Payroll compliance oversight certified payroll processing preferred.
- Strength in upgrading developing and implementing policies and procedures.
- Experience leading yearend audits with external auditors.
- An exceptional level of accuracy in all work.
- Minimum Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Ideally the candidate will be a CPA.
- A quick learner who can rapidly embrace a new company culture and responsibilities.
- A leader who is handson by nature.
- A strong record of problem solving and priority setting.
- Selfassured decisive accomplished team player.
- An ability to establish strong relationships and maintain alignment with leadership employees and vendors.
